AWS Marketplace Billing per "Unit"
One unit corresponds to 1,000 API requests (1 unit = 1,000 API requests).
1.000 or 1,000 = one thousand.
Unfortunately, AWS Amazon does not support a billing method for single requests (per request) yet, so requests must be bundled into units.
As an AWS marketplace seller, the API usage (metric) must be transmitted hourly to the Amazon AWS Marketplace for billing purposes in the SaaS model.
The count of Units which are used in an hour is reported to AWS Marketplace for billing purposes, even if the last Unit at transmission time is being only partly processed.
A started or partly used Unit, whether with 10 API requests or 999 API requests, is then transferred to AWS when the "usage hour" is completed.
The AWS Marketplace is meant for clients with a smaller usage, with no support needed, which want to instant use some sophisticated and easy to request analysis.
If an AWS subscriber would only make 500 API calls once within one hour, they would never be charged.
Example usage and pricing
Example 1
Use Case: Several million URLs or articles to analyze. At day 1 some pre-testing is done. At day 2: the analysis is processed. At day 3: after the results are checked, some re-analysis.

| 08:45-09:45 | 876 | 1 | $ 0.30 | $ 0.30 |
| 09:45-10:45 | 412 | 1 | $ 0.30 | $ 0.30 |
| Time /Day 2 | API calls | Units (AWS) | Price per Unit | Sum |
| 08:45-09:45 | 1,024,137 | 1,025 | $ 0.30 | $ 307.00 |
| 09:45-10:45 | 3,110,878 | 3,111 | $ 0.30 | $ 933,30 |
| 10:45-11:45 | 4,679,111 | 4,680 | $ 0.30 | $ 1,404.00 |

| 12:45-13:45 | 2,763,976 | 2,764 | $ 0.25 | $ 5.10 |
| Time / Day 3 | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 09:45-10:45 | 167,982 | 168 | $ 0.25 | $ 42.00 |
| 10:45-11:45 | 15 | 1 | $ 0.25 | $ 0.25 |
| 11:45-12:45 | 231,877 | 232 | $ 0.25 | $ 58.00 |
| 13,167 | $ 0,275 | $ 3,105.51 |
Example 2
Use Case: New articles should be pre-classified, tagged and categorized each day (recurring).
| Recurring | API calls | Units (AWS) | Price per Unit | Sum |
| each hour | 20 | 1 | $ 0.30 | $ 0.30 |
| each day | 480 | 24 | $ 0.30 | $ 7.20 |
